Great Dorset Steam Fair 2016 pt2

Another tranche of snaps of diverse machinery from the GDSF.....

Not what you normally expect to see under the bonnet!
Stanley steam car.

Front view of the Stanley.

Very rare to see an American traction engine on
these shores and rather bizarre looking to unfamiliar
eyes. A Peerless.

This year there was a display commemorating 100 years since
the Battle of the Somme. There were even re-creation trenches
to walk around. I was worried it might be a bit faux and tacky but
in fact it was fantastically done. Very thought provoking.

The Somme commemoration area even included
a field workshop where these two Triumphs
received attention alongside a stripped
Thornycroft lorry motor.
