A mystery item here. All I know is that it is French, stylish in a quirky manner and slightly crazy. Is it from a bicycle or a moped / autocycle? It appears to mount on the handlebar stem. I'm guessing the age is thirties, forties or perhaps early fifties. I do not really have anything suitable to fit this light to but it is the kind of item that makes me feel the urge to build up a two wheeler around it!
Can anyone out there assist with further information?
What a fantastic device. Center lamp appears to have sockets for high/low beam light bulbs?
ReplyDeleteYes, it's got a main and side setting which would perhaps hint more at something motorised. If it was run off a bicycle dynamo I suspect the rider would expend all energy on just powering the lighting system!

ReplyDeletemaybe have a look over here:https://forum.tontonvelo.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=687&start=315
Can't see a marque anywhere. Thanks for the link. I've looked through most of the pages but not found anything similar yet. I did spend a happy hour looking though! Great link, thanks!
Delete6V dry cell in the nacelle?
ReplyDeleteYep, you're right. Just opened it up there's space for a battery inside. It's got two separate switches - one for off / side / high and the other to add in the spots. It's got no input for power but has got power going out for a rear light.
