Early Cyclocross
Snap from a cyclocross event of yore. At a guess it dates from the early sixties.
It does rather look like a footpath. I believe the laws are that you can apply to close footpaths off for an event but not bridleways. Something to do with ancient rights of way laws I suspect...
I wonder how familiar the riders like in the piece were with the course. They were probably local events, so riders had a chance to give it go before the race.
This looks to be a public way they are racing on. Were all cyclo-cross routes (at least partially) on public paths?
ReplyDeleteThis looks like a public path. Did all (or some) of the cyclo-cross routes at this time include public ways?
