Here's the brochure for Cotton motorcycles from 1961. A nice range of Villiers machines for most purposes. It's a large format brochure so has scanned less well than some of the others due to the creases down the middle of it but it is still quite readable.

I had a Vulcan Sports in the late 1960. It had a 9E engine with a 4 speed box. Had to scrap it after a small fall bent the frame!. Motor was worth more than the rest of the bike, Go-karters were using them.
ReplyDeleteI went down hill after that and acquired an ex police Velocette 200. Finally saw sense and bought a new Honda CD90Z sports version.
Nearly 50 years later still riding. 650cc now.
Hi there. Thanks for the comment. For a while I rode around on a Greeves roadster with a 9E fitted. Beautiful running gear but the engine was very lacking. The Cotton was a lovely looking machine, like the Greeves I guess it could have done with a bit more power than the 9E could deliver. I'll bet that CD90Z was a better performer! Keep riding, keep enjoying! Cheers, Richard
